The Delmarva Clergy’s Board of Directors believes there are many factors that contributing to low-income families and the “dysfunction” in Ellendale. Poverty is one of the main contributing factors of observed antisocial behavior. Further, they believe these programs are needed to confront each of these concerns to give people avenues in which they can become independent, further their education and gain pride about themselves and their families.

Philadelphia Shelter Home

This is a temporary housing  facility for women and children in emergency need of housing. Along with housing other programs such as budgeting, support groups and transportation are available.

DCUSA Food Program & Soup Kitchen

Our Food Program is here to help those in need of food. The Soup Kitchen is free and open to the public each Monday, Wednesday and  Friday. Classes are offered in meal preparation and budgeting every third Friday of each month from 6pm-7:15pm.

DCUSA Hand In Hand Childcare Center

The DCUSA Hand In Hand Childcare Center has a mission to enrich the quality of family life by providing peace of mind to parents. Our childcare facility accepts children from the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years old. We have age appropriate programs for each developmental stage in a fun, safe and loving environment.

Youth & Teen Crisis Program

This is a free service we offer to youths and teens with the hope of creating and reinforcing conditions that promote healthy behavior and lifestyles within themselves. We provide counseling about topics ranging from drugs, sexuality, relationships and much more. Additional activities include trips, parties and guest speakers.

Educational Advancements

We offer numerous classes to further your education. We have Adult Basic Education, ABE, which teaches reading, writing, math  and life skills to adults and out of school youths 16 or older. We also offer a list of computer classes to help you survive in today’s computer workforce.
